Fall is here and change is coming
because we embrace the changing of the seasons and we pivot when things aren’t working… plus all the fun holidays to bookmark for the month ahead!
Good Morning Joyful Readers!
How is it already October with only 3 months left in the year?! It’s truly unbelievable how fast time moves and it’s true what’s they say; the days are long but the years are short. I recently ordered all of my 2026 planners: a Laurel Denise in a large Scout style for me and a large Rose style to create a memory/event planner for my kiddo, and a reading planner from The Book Sisters Shop. Needless to say, I’m excited about ending 2025 on a high note and planning for a wonderful 2026 too!

Fall is my favorite season and I’m doing my best to enjoy every moment of it. For me, Fall is a time of renewal; it could be that I never let go of that back-to-school mindset and I’m 100% here for it. This coming year I want to be more mindful of how I spend my time and how I track it too: see above note that I will have 3 planners I’ll be keeping!

This makes me want to reevaluate how I spend my time working on my blog. I think weekly posts have been too difficult in this current season of my life and I’ve decided to take a step back from sharing a weekly edit. I’m proud that I’ve managed to keep to consistency of posting once a week on Wednesdays but it’s become too much a a burden for something that’s supposed to be fun.
What to expect going forward: I’ll share a monthly wrap up with highlights from the areas of my life that I think are most noteworthy and interesting such as lessons learned, favorite products used, favorite new recipes, any great tips or advice received, a collection of favorite instagram and substack posts, book mail highlights, and of course the holiday list for the month ahead!
With this change to a monthly wrap up instead of a weekly edit, I’ll have more time throughout the month to focus on creating other bookish content that brings me joy such as book reviews, book lists, favorite quotes, book mail features, and author interviews. I’ve also been contemplating creating a running series called Letters to My Daughter that will give me an outlet to pull the new(ish) mom thoughts from my brain onto the written page so that I can preserve some of that for my daughter and hopefully inspire others to do the same for their children.
Since I shared a few weekly posts this month, I’m going to skip doing a September monthly wrap up and will instead skip right on over to sharing the October holiday lists!
Friendly reminder that a paid subscription costs less than a latte once a month. If this weekly column brings you joy, I appreciate you supporting my work!
October’s holiday lists:
October is almost here and it’s going to be filled with all my favorite things; visits to local pumpkin patches, turing the fireplace on in the evenings, making big pots of soup, making goody bags for tricker or treaters, making tons of yummy baked goods and sharing them with friends.
What are you looking forward to doing this Fall?
Next month’s list is available exclusively to paid subscribers and the November list will be posted soon!
