Pre-Page Opening Thoughts:

I heard mixed reviews going in but knew that whatever Matt Haig has chosen to give us, I was 100% here for it. ✨

Notes & Reading Thoughts:

Gosh I just loved this in all its weirdness and thoughtfulness. It was intriguing and confusing and I absolutely ate it up. A strange read about grief, environment conservation, and the notion that you’re never too old to embrace something different and go on a new adventure. I didn’t particularly care for the main character but my heart broke for all of the grief and loss she’d been through and I enjoyed soaking up all the weirdness and thoughtfulness throughout.

Read to meet challenges or interests that call for…

✔️Takes place on an island

✔️Makes you laugh out loud

OUABC Gift Note Spoilers

  • Pg39 💝 the count of monte cristo - book storage box with pretty gold edges. Great gift!

  • The OUABC packet includes a QR code link to a playlist

  • Pg121 💝 I wish they would steer clear of jewelry - hmm it’s actually not bad for their costume jewelry attempts but it’s also a turn off for reaching a wider audience beyond women

  • Pg258 💝 a food safe glass jar with wooden top, it’s actually kind of pretty and I think I’ll use it
