Life can often be a juxtaposition of beautiful moments mixed with messy chaos. May was filled with ups but it also came with one devastating down for our family. Last week we received heartbreaking news that my husband’s younger brother unexpectedly passed away.
Simply put, we’re experiencing grief from an unexpected loss. It’s true what they say— it comes in waves and hits you when you least expect it. I won’t elaborate here but I will say that moments of grief remind me how important it is to embrace the joy in our lives and to find meaning and purpose in our everyday experiences.
Happy Birthday to Me!
Shamelessly sharing that June is one of my favorites because it’s my birthday month - and yes, I wrote birthday month for a reason - my birthday is June 1st and I like to celebrate all month long! I think it comes with being born on the first or perhaps it’s just because I love having a reason to celebrate.
June is filled to the brim with important seasonal holidays such as Father’s Day and the start of Summer. June 1st is the unofficial start to Summer Reading (reminder to check out your local library’s summer reading program - it likely runs from June 1st through the end of August), which essentially means my birthday is an unofficial reading holiday! It also means the book recommendations on social media are going to be flowing and I’m 100% here for it.

One of my favorite traditions each year is creating and sharing a list of seasonal holidays happening every month. I do this in hopes of inspiring ways to find joy in living each day to the fullest, because there’s always a reason to celebrate.
